Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Charlie Health.
Entrevista
The team seemed friendly, but my experience with the interview process was disappointing. The process felt disorganized, and communication was inconsistent, and I was then rejected without explanation.
After my recruiter screen, I did not receive an update for several days and had to follow up to learn about next steps. I was then sent a CodeSignal assessment, but when I reached out with questions about it, I never received a response. The assessment was later canceled without explanation, and I received an automated rejection email the following day. I followed up again for clarification but again did not hear back.
During the initial call, they mentioned that candidates already based in New York were being prioritized, even though this was not stated in the job posting. I had indicated that I was willing to relocate, but it seems that local candidates may have been preferred in the end.

Recruiter was very responsive throughout. Hiring Manager screen, then code signal industry assessment and system design. System design was straightforward, not classic system design but the expectations were very clear. Overall great experience and it was on me for bombing the industry assessment. Vibe of the hiring manager and team members were friendly and positive. Would interview there again.

Code signal industry coding assessment. Implement salary class with 4 parts. Support clock in, clock out, promotions. Difficult handling intervals with promotions during clock in. Need to pass part 3 to advance.

There's a tone of condescension/arrogance from the recruiting side and a Director of Eng (who showed little interest in the interview). This is one among N health-tech startups on the market, not the only one so if you're getting a good offer elsewhere, take it instead of here.
1. Recruiter call with recruiter who questioned a short resume gap after years working in a previous company and asked "do you have a good relationship with them because you know we're gonna check your references", for ref I was there 7 years and took a break for a few months before looking on the market again - 7 years is longer than Charlie Health has existed.
2. Now the Director of Eng interview, let's say that they came unprepared, seemed disinterested and didn't even provide feedback and I got a boilerplate rejection after chatting with her.
For a behavioral health startup, the irony is real.

You left your last job after working there for almost a decade, why did you stop working? Why are you looking to join a new company? What would your refs say about you?
