After speaking with three different recruiters, I was set up on a phone call with the VP of Engineering. I spoke with her for 45 minutes - the conversation was pleasant enough. I sent a follow-up thank you note to two of the three recruiters I spoke to, and never heard back from anybody at Chewy. In essence, Chewy ghosted a candidate.

I applied for a role and recruiter reached out to me. I was set up to speak with the hiring manager and there is where all bad experience started. The hiring manager started introducing himself and said he was a techy all his life and considered himself a best techy than a good people manager. He said he was trying and learning people management. Not a great start! The more he talked, I started wondering if he was really qualified to be a senior director. Most of his rumbling were totally unrelated to role and were not thoughtful. He opened a word doc/noted and started reading some questions/text for me to answer. Obviously, there were Amazon questions, because I worked for Amazon for 4 years. At the end of the interview, he said he wanted me to proceed to next step. Surprisingly, there was no follow-up emails from the recruiter. After multiple emails and a week, I was told that they were in the "midst of allocating where the new leadership headcount". I waited for a few more weeks and sent a few more emails. No reply ever since. They are nothing but incompetent jerks.
