I was approached by a colleague for an opportunity. I had a few interviews over five months for two different positions. The first position ended up going to an internal candidate. I was approached again for the second position. I interviewed again but the position was not offered to me. The team wasn't overly warm, and the atmosphere was peculiar. My colleague who works there said they've coined it "the weirdness" because it's a common tone for people to seem whispery and secretive. It wouldn't have been an atmosphere where I would have been happy in the long term.
