Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 2 meses. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Citadel (Chicago, IL).
Entrevista
3 phone interviews on CoderPad before on-site. Phone interviews are algorithms/DS questions. Onsite is back to back hour-long interviews with 3 to 6 people. Questions on-site vary depending on the interviewer and the conversation, a lot of probability, ML, statistics, and again algorithms questions.
Citadel is known to display a pattern of disrespect towards candidates in all stages of the interview. This is what I've been told and unfortunately experienced as well. Recruiters ignore your emails for weeks. You take a day off to travel for the on-site interview, but your scheduled interviewers may not show up for work that day and they don't have a back up plan.
After the on-site interview, I was told that a decision will be made within two days. But after two weeks no one got back to me and the recruiter ignored my emails. Then some other recruiter left me a voicemail "wanted to follow up with my interviews" and asked me to call her back at a specific phone number. I know this means I am not getting an offer. I called her back multiple times within the past month on different days and different times of the week, but no one picked up. Unless she took the month off, this is obviously a phone line that they set up to ignore.
I don't really care that much about not getting an offer but it is very disrespectful that they would not even show you the courtesy of an email or a phone call to let you know after you spend a day on-site.
No other company of this size would do this in such a systemic way.
- Questions on Linear Algebra and Coding
- Discussion of a problem at the intersection of optimization and classical machine learning
- No behavioural questions or anything about my personality or work experience, the interview was purely technical
Perguntas de entrevista [1]
Pergunta 1
- Explain how to compute a product of two very large matrices in a computationally efficient way, using the structure of the problem and the matrices
Start with my own self-introduction and the interviewer's self-introduction first for five minutes, then a couple of technical questions for like thirty minutes, and in the end, questions for the interviewers about the company.
I received the interview a few weeks after applying online. During the interview i was asked by the interviewer about my past experience and also some other related technical questions.
