After an initial phone screen, there was a 1 hour long, conceptual technical interview. It involved a non-stop barrage of questions on system design, microservices, Spring Boot, etc. Some of the questions were easy, while others felt more like the interviewers expected me to have memorized a textbook. It felt like past experience mattered very little, and it was much more important to be able to list random system deign concepts.
