Received a phone call from the recruiter a few weeks after submitting my application online. Had a great conversation with the recruiter and set up a follow up interview with the hiring manager on the Data team. The phone conversation with the manager was a essentially a technical conversation around the challenges they are facing at the company right now and what they are looking for. I enjoyed this conversation as well. I was informed that they wanted to do a final round which would be over Google Hangouts since I do not live in San Diego. The day before the final round the recruiter called me and informed me that they had to cancel the interview. Apparently the position was not available anymore as a result of reorg at the company. I was disappointed but overall it was a neat, transparent experience.
