I found these guys by accident and they looked like they might be a fit for my skills so I took a chance and applied. I spoke with the hiring director a twice and he was great to work with. I have to call out several key areas they did great on: - They where quick to reply to an application, I think it was less than 48 hours. Good job. - On the very first call they where open about the process, how long it would take and where they thought we where a good fit and where there might be problems. - They are hiring with a plan. They know what they needed for skills in the short and medium term and where willing to communicate that so there was no guessing what kind of work would be done. - This one may seem strange, but even though they decided not to extend an offer to me they did so with class, and honesty in a way that left me feeling positive about their company. They called me quickly and explained their decision, which boiled down to a concern about being able to keep me at the appropriate level of utilization. I have respect for a company that has enough integrity of character and knowledge of their business model to not hire a candidate they like, when they might not have enough business to keep them fully employed. So: quick communication, a solid plan for growing the team, and honest communication.
