Entrevista
I was approached directly by the CEO via LinkedIn, who expressed interest in my background and invited me to connect with their People Lead. Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn't match the enthusiasm of that initial outreach.
The screening call with the People Lead was brief and surface-level — I came away with little useful information about the role, the team, or what joining Clever would actually look like day-to-day.
From there, I was given a take-home assignment asking me to evaluate a product hypothesis, produce a written proposal, build visual prototypes, and draft a meeting agenda — all framed as 2–4 pages but realistically requiring significant independent research. I invested approximately 16 hours and submitted two prototypes along with my written work.
A week passed with no communication. After I followed up, I received a rejection email a few days later with no specific feedback on my submission.
For candidates considering a process here: be aware that the investment asked of you may not be matched by the organization's investment in you. If you're being recruited — not applying — I'd expect more transparency earlier and at minimum some substantive feedback on work of this scope.
Was invited to apply for the job via a linkedin message from the hiring manager. After working on the application, it made you upload an actual video recording of you answering an interview question. It was a random Sunday afternoon when I applied, and I wasn't expecting to have to be filmed just to apply. After all this, I just got a rejection letter. What a waste of time, and very rude of them to message you on linkedin saying you're a great fit if they didn't actually want to move your application forward.

Entrevista
I completed an initial phone screen with the TA Manager. The conversation felt somewhat rushed but still provided a good overview of the role and the process. I learned that Clever uses the WHO method throughout the interview process.
The next step was a written trial assessment. I spent several hours completing it, outlining a detailed strategy for filling one of the company’s highest-volume roles. Given my prior experience recruiting for similar roles, I was excited to demonstrate my approach.
Unfortunately, I received a generic rejection email after submitting the assessment. It was disappointing not to have the opportunity to further discuss my strategy or showcase my skills in a mock call or follow-up conversation after investing significant time in the assignment.
I also requested feedback, but as expected - did not receive a response. While I respect that companies receive many applicants and cannot always provide detailed feedback, the process ultimately felt discouraging given the time commitment involved.
That said, sometimes opportunities simply are not the right fit, and I wish the team the best moving forward.
