Interview process was very bumpy. The interviewer missed our first 7am Skype call, which she attributed to a timezone mistake in an email, 4 days later at which time she asked me to reschedule for the following morning. When we connected, the screening call was in 3 parts: behavior questions, discussion of the job description, next steps. The pay-range was substantially lower than other similar organizations pay but perhaps this is part of the philosophy of equity with the national staff. I was then asked to complete a technical exercise. The email instructions indicated "you have 48 hours to send back to us for review". I acknowledge this by saying "thank you, I'll return this in 48 hours" to which I was told "no, you have 72 hours". The exercise also had conflicting instructions so I detailed which instructions I followed in my answer sheet. Three weeks after submission I received an email saying CHAI was pursuing other candidates who "better fit this role". I found the interaction rather strange for an organization hurrying to fill a role.
