HR interview was fine
Next step was technical task on hackerrank. Tasks were simple and I was confident that the result would be good if not ideal. I was shocked to receive the feedback from HR - 63%. I asked to provide a more detailed feedback - she said that the linux task was wrong and said that she will consult lead devops. After consulting lead devops she provided me with same result I got in the task and a somewhat different command but basically no different from mine. I vividly remember the task and it didn't specify explicitly as to why the command from tech lead is better than mine and I'm confident in my linux skills to say that there is nothing wrong in my command even after taking a look at the "right answer"
Later from a contact in the company I've discovered that the lead devops didn't take a look at my result, furthermore he doesn't even know what is inside the test. So it basically means that HR just copy pasted something from hackerrank's poorly written auto-check results and called it a day. She didn't answer to my messages after that and didn't clarify what I did wrong. Nice RNG based technical tests you got there, top notch recruiting! Even if the linux task would be wrong, how did that amount to -37? No response either
I also learned that the company changed it's name 3 times in the last 5 years. Shady stuff going on, wouldn't go there even if I received the offer.
