I applied online through their website and after a week I got a phone call from their talent acquisition team and was invited to the first interview. This was mainly general questions about the experience and how I dealt with some situations regarding business and other team members. It included a few general technical questions as well. Next stage was the challenge, where I was asked to make an app meeting certain requirements in 4 days. I did a great job and sent it back on the due date. From then, no matter how many times I followed up I did not get any feedback regarding my test. First I was told the team was too busy and could not find time to review it. Then they said the person who was supposed to review my test was on leave. This was all strange to me, though, because there was a map feature inside the app which had an api key from which I could see on google console that the map feature was successfully called 2 times the day after I submitted the test. Any way, after 10 days they returned to me with a shocking review of my app, as if it was mistaken for someone else. The reviewer claimed my app crashed on map and on screen rotation, which was totally wrong. I sent them a short video capture of the app working on both map and screen rotation and asked them to get some other person from the team to review it again. It was really easy because I had submitted the code to a repository where my last commit was at the date of test submission. So they could easily find out whether the apk I had put in my last commit worked or not. Even a non-android developer could find out. However, they did not. I then sent an email to the talent acquisition coordinator explaining all the above. The immediate day after I got a message from them asking for a coffee catchup which I could not do, so we talked on the phone. I was then told they have reflected my points to the android team but its their discretion whether to review it again or not and that they could not do anything else about that. That was all, simply they do not care about even going back to their wrong review so that they do not lose a good candidate.
