I received a call from HR to schedule a one-hour technical interview for a position based in India, at the Manyata Tech Park location. The following day, my interview was scheduled. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. The technical panel lacked professionalism. They hadn’t even reviewed my resume before the call and said, “While we search for your resume, can you give us a quick introduction?” Their demeanor felt more like interrogation than a professional discussion. They focused on my career gap and made sarcastic remarks, such as questioning if I had worked on the same project for three years. After my introduction, they asked me to explain OOP concepts. As I began explaining, they rudely interrupted, saying they didn’t want theoretical explanations and instructed me to share my screen and write a program. Their tone was dismissive, and under such pressure, I forgot how to approach the program. They then remarked, “You’ve been working for three years, and you can’t write this simple program?” Later, they asked where I deploy my microservices. I sought clarification, thinking they were asking about a specific server. Their response was mocking; they laughed and said, “Where else would you deploy them?” The interviewers seemed more interested in asking irrelevant questions, such as whether I had genuinely worked with Java and AWS, adding, “There’s nothing wrong in admitting if you haven’t.” At the end of the interview, they said, “In this team, we use X, Y, and Z, and we are looking for strong candidates.” The hypocrisy was astonishing. The technical panel members, Saurabh and Aminesh, made the entire experience unprofessional and disrespectful.
