I applied and interviewed for a freelance creative+business writing position. I interviewed with Compose.ly first and then directly with the client. I was then asked to do a two-part, multi-hour assignment, which I did. Never heard back.

The initial conversation with the recruiter went well—we both agreed I was a strong fit based on the job description. However, just 20 minutes into the second round, I was told I didn’t have enough experience and that the team didn’t have time to train anyone. The role was listed as requiring 1–3 years of experience with a $50K budget, which I matched. Had I progressed, the final round would’ve involved an unpaid assignment and a presentation to the hiring manager. Overall, this process felt like a waste of time that could’ve been avoided with clearer expectations in the job listing and more thorough vetting upfront.

Entrevista
I had a 30 min. screening interview with HR 9 days after I applied. The rep was bubbly and kind but did not keep her word. She said I would know the outcome in two business days. It has now been a full week past that time and she has entirely ghosted. Also her communications come from no-reply emails, so there's no way to reach out to request an update or closure.
I spend 2 hours preparing for an interview, spend 30 minutes with her (where she asks me to go over my resume?), and she can't even send a rejection when she promises to? Very inconsiderate.
Although I was ghosted and didn't make it through next steps, here's what she outlined for the 1.5-2 week process:
•an interview with the CEO
•an interview with CRO, the hiring manager
•a project submitted to the CRO and CEO
