Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Confluent (Montreal, QC) em fev. de 2022
Entrevista
I was contacted by a Confluent recruiter, and after exchanging a few emails, we set an interview for the next day. I waited for 10 minutes before sending a email to the recruiter asking if the call was still on.
Got a call 40 minutes after that and did a 15 minutes interview with basic questions about my resume.
After the interview I was supposed to get information about the position and the company/products. I had to send another email a week after to that recruiter again, to get the information he promised me to send.
Then I was set up for an interview with a local senior SE, but nothing has been discussed about the topic of that interview. Based on what that recruiter sent me, I prepared that meeting the best I could learning about the company and the products.
I was a bit surprised when the senior SE told me it's going to be a technical interview, that will cover networking, cloud architecture, APIs, storage and server architecture.
After that interview no news from Confluent for the past 2 weeks until I decided to sent an email, one more time, to check on my candidacy status. After which I got a copy/paste of rejection email template, with no detailed explanations.
No need to say that the whole job interview experience was below average and I can't say I was impressed by the company recruitment process.

The interview process consists of a call with a recruiter followed by a call with the hiring manager. After speaking with the hiring manager I was told I didn't have the skills for the role but was moved forward anyway (looking back I assume I was moved along because of a requirement for diverse candidates and simply a box to check). My original impression was I was moved forward to see how much I could demonstrate to show learning capability; I was wrong. The final interview consists of a code review, a whiteboard on public cloud/application modernization, and a presentation on any technology. They are looking for very specific responses, so if you do not have a FIRM grasp on AWS/public cloud you will likely struggle. After the interview, I was met with radio silence and only heard back (10+ days later) after reaching out to the recruiter. Overall it was a negative experience.
