      Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Corteva Agriscience (Pittsburg, CA).

      Entrevista

      I applied on the company website.  Shortly after, I was contacted by a gentleman with some additional questions via E-mail which I responded to.  I then was invited to a formal interview on-site.  I perceived myself to be reasonably qualified for this particular role and thought the company had serious aspirations about hiring me, so I didn't think to ask if they would be amenable to a preliminary video or phone screen. The interview consisted of a short introductory video, a plant tour, and meetings with people.  I first met the administrative coordinator who wasn't particularly friendly, and next my contact for the plant tour.  The formal interview that followed was set up in a conference room where four people randomly tossed several behavioral-type questions for at least an hour, which was challenging but manageable.  Afterwards, I met with two more people in a separate panel who asked similar questions to the point where I needed to repeat myself.  One of the interviewers escorted me out afterwards, stating that they have been trying to fill this position for some time, which left me with an unpleasant vibe.  A week and a half later I followed up with an E-mail to the administrative coordinator requesting my status of candidacy...to which I received the most insincere form rejection letter imaginable the following day.  The company might implement a more elaborate screening procedure so candidates won't waste their time and money driving out to the facility to be treated as such (as a side note, the road leading to the facility is in particularly horrid condition).  This nature of interview could have been conducted more efficiently over the computer, and plant tours should be reserved after the company has established sincere interest in the candidate.

      I had one round of interviews, with behavioral and technical questions that lasted about 45 minutes. there was a production engineer, leader, TAs and one person who asked the behavioral questions
