Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela Cruise (San Francisco, CA) em out. de 2018
Entrevista
Some recruiter kept mailing me at my office email address. Which I kept ignoring because I wasn't looking for a switch. Finally when I was job hunting, I replied to him and asked him to mail me at my personal ID - which I sent to him. And he once again replied to my office ID and cc'ed another recruiter to continue the process.
Shows just how much attention they pay to actually reading the responses. And this company wants to do autonomous driving. Scary thought.
Anyway, the other recruiter again mails my office ID and I finally give them my phone number so that I can stop them mailing my office ID. They call and setup a phone interview.
The phone interview is pretty simple - starting with a simple implementation - draw an xmas tree with '#' and ' ' of a given height.
Then further questions were just modifications of this, to modify the tree in various ways.
I implemented the solution and the output was correct each time. The interviewer didn't express any reservations about the solution and said they would get back to me, which I wasn't very worried about since I was only looking at positions near my home in South Bay and was only using these interviews as some sort of practice. Karma got me - because they rejected me!! Reason was that my skill set wasn't a fit. The only thing that bothers me about this is that in around 30 interviews I've had so far - this was the first phone interview I failed :-( - ruined my clean sheet.

draw an xmas tree with '#' and ' ' of a given height.
replace the top most '#' with a '*'
make the tree hollow - replace inbetween '#' with ' ', so that only the extremities of each level have a '#'.

The interview process consisted of an initial recruiter screen followed by a technical phone interview focused on data structures and problem-solving in Python. The onsite loop included 4 rounds: one coding round (medium LeetCode-style problem), one system design round focused on building a scalable ML data processing pipeline, one backend/API design round, and one behavioral round. Interviewers emphasized real-world problem solving, tradeoffs, and communication. Overall, the process was structured and aligned with large-scale distributed systems and ML infrastructure.

generic questions, nothing to really test what I knew. The interviewers seemed to not know how to interview a candidate and what to look for. I didn't want to work there after what i saw.
