The interview was conducted onsite. It started with just talking to their VP and slowly but surely more and more people started piling into the room until I was sitting in a completely filled small conference room with guys all around me some of which had taken the time to introduce themselves to me upon arrival and some who did not.
They grilled me with questions for about an hour. I’m having difficulty remembering what they all were. I remember them being very relevant to the position. They all seem nice and knowledgeable.
What grinds my gears is that they made it a point to say how much they wanted someone with initiative and then they never bothered getting a hold of me to tell me whether or not I got the job.
If I took the time to put on a suit, drive and meet all of you, get grilled by a continuous onslaught of questions, the least you can do is say that I didn’t get the job. I even sent a follow up message to the VP and I still didn’t hear back.

The company needs some good technical directors so they asked if I would be interested in a technical director position. I applied and then they brought me in for an interview. The interview process is that of a small 5 employee company that really has no process at all at interviewing people. I interviewed with all of the VP's and got sign off that they should hire me but then I met with the tech directors (who would be my peers) and they did not want me, not because of me not being able to do the job but because they where intimidated by me because I knew more than they did about the job and it might look bad on them. It was either that or because I know that one of the current tech directors lost his job at his previous company because he got caught sleeping with another employee when he was the manager and he doesn't want the company to find this out. I'm sure he didn't tell the company this when he applied. So somehow the tech directors convinced the VP not to hire me. This does not look good for the manager over the tech directors. I found out that he does anything that the tech directors say. The only way to get a job there is to become friends with one of the tech directors and then it doesn't mater how little you know, you will get a job there.

What kind of alcohol do I drink (This is true, I was really asked this)?
What is my policy preference? We work with oil companies and you need to be all about oil companies. (I later found out that the guy who asked me this was against oil companies and also against the company I use to work for).
