Hi initially applied to be a Freelance Retoucher, but instead they offered me an Intern position since I didn't graduate yet, I accepted and continued to interview with Cuyana. The process took about 2 weeks. First I received an email to schedule a phone interview, then I did a retouching test, and after that I was scheduled for an in person interview. The in person interview was annoying. It felt very disorganized. I originally was supposed to be interviewed by 3 people. But first I was interviewed by 2 people. The first person was the only other retoucher. YES, Cuyana has only 1 retoucher, and some other freelance retouchers that live out of state when they need them. Which is kind of ridiculous for an ecommerce website. The first interview seemed more nervous than me and she looked like she was writing notes, just to write notes...meaning that it just seemed like she wasn't taking me seriously. It felt like she didn't know how to conduct an interview but she thought taking notes was a " good thing to do". Then the second person who interviewed me came in, and she was asking me better questions. ***The CEO walked by the room and both interviewers looked like they were scared, and that gave me a bad feeling about this company, making me think about all the negative reviews were true... Then the third person came in for an interview, the art director. She asked me more questions and it seemed pretty promising. They told me they'd let me know in 2 weeks because they were so busy. I decided to follow up sooner than later, and I didn't get an offer. I didn't even get a reason why. This makes me upset because I applied for the Freelance Retoucher position and instead they offered me an internship position instead. They also told me that there was a possibility of conversion after I graduate if everything went well. Overall, this is ANNOYING. I felt dragged on and time wasted interviewing at Cuyana. They could not even tell me why they rejected my application. I just feel like they should of just interviewed me as a Freelance Retoucher and not offer me an internship. BTW everyone in the office is rude and aren't friendly.
