I was advised I got the job for the following reason. I was recruited by a head hunter company. The rep from the head hunter was a woman. My Help Desk manager at D&H told me that the IT Director from D&H Distributing (man) “liked” the woman representative from the headhunter company. And I was hired so the D&H IT Director could impress the representative from the headhunter company that represented me.
