I hate being negative in this feedback but I think this might warrant it since if you are a professional and on an honest job search this might waste your morning. If you need some cash quick you might get hired right away. Looking back on this I should have known better. The first phone call was brief and they asked if I could pass a background check and had my own car. Fair enough as many employers want this. They tell me the first interview will be a quick screening interview. Ok fine but can't you do that over the phone? I walk into the interview and there are several applicants also waiting which I expected since the job ad states no degree or experience required (red flag right there I guess). Everyone else - even the receptionist and interviewer look to be a bit younger than me and I'm only in my early thirties! I can tell right there I may not really fit in. During the interview I am told that the hours are full time Monday - Friday 11-6 AND Saturday 9-3. So more than 40 hours, I ask? Yes well they do shorter days but more working days. Huh. They say it's not a sales job but you do have to sell - the appointments for which you will earn a set dollar amount commission. This sounds very similar to that knife selling job I took in college - they snake oil you in saying that you can make up to $xxx per week! But it's not a sales job... well it is maybe fine if you are in college/in the marketing or sales field. Sounds like they have fast and sure moving up potential (read - tiered marketing). It's low pressure but you have to make the appointments (sales leads) to make any money. Again the whole interview was maybe 15 minutes tops which could have so easily been done by phone to save me the drive in Minnesota winter (-24 today!!!) and to save their time. But I guess the point is to get you in to sell you on the "job". They told me 2nd interviews would be the very next day with hiring right after that. They must need people to work on Saturday.
