I recently interviewed for an Account Executive position within the Insurance Software division at DXC Technology. The recruiter reached out to me directly, and as part of the initial screening, I was asked to provide some background information. I responded accordingly and set up a call with the recruiter.
The recruiter was fantastic—she was open, communicative, and highly professional. Following this, I was invited to a Teams interview with the hiring manager.
From the very start, it was clear that the hiring manager had no genuine interest in me. She was late to the call, her body language was disengaged, and it felt like she was trying to wrap up the conversation as quickly as possible—not a pleasant experience. During the interview, she mentioned that I might be better suited for another role and said she would consider me for it, but this felt like lip service.
Shortly after, I received an automated rejection email from the recruiter, stating that my application would not be moving forward.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially after such a positive interaction with the recruiter.
