I recently interviewed for the e-commerce specialist role at Daniel wellington for Mumbai location. And it was disappointing experience due to some issues in the process. The interview process was long which took a month to schedule 4 rounds out of 6. First I submitted the application on the website. Next I received two logical and personality tests. After I cleared them I was scheduled for the first HR interview (video call) with the recruiter from Sweden head office. Since it was not an Indian person the interview went very well without questions like what’s your last CTC or why did you leave your previous job, etc. He asked logical and practical questions. Then I was scheduled for next round with 2 Mumbai team members which to my surprise weren’t in management or leadership roles but had similar experience and profile as me. The interview started 10 minutes late without prior notice and none of them acknowledged or apologised the delay. It was a video call interview however they had their cameras turned off and I was alone who kept it on. It was clear that I wasn’t gonna clear this round as the interview ended within 10 minutes. Both of them were disinterested and clearly hadn’t seen my resume beforehand and asked irrelevant questions like tell me about yourself. None of them asked about my detailed experience such as brands, clients, etc. They weren’t comfortable to discuss the catalog management, company strategies or future plan because they didn’t seem to have any knowledge about it. This shows even if it’s a foreign company and previous rounds went well, the work culture and outdated hiring process is same as Indian companies as experienced in this round.
