Entrevista
First step: Interview with HR - the interview was cool, just a normal chat. Getting to know you sort of questions with some work environment scenarios. Second Step: Assessment Test - They gave one badass pipeline to build. Which comprises building both batch and streaming pipelines in AWS using Terraform within 8 days. Surprisingly, AWS credentials were not provided, and I was expected to utilize my own resources. According to them, this was intended to assess my thought process and problem-solving abilities. 3rd step: Technical interview - To sort of defend and explain what I did in the assessment test. With some other additional practical technical scenarios. Final step - This step was supposed to be meeting with their CEO or so. However, prior to scheduling this final interview, I was required to accept their non-negotiable monthly salary of N150,000 per month. This stipend came without any additional benefits, and no working materials would be provided. Okay, so they were looking for a Data Engineer with over 4 years of Experience (in Python, SQL, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, Kafka, Apache Airflow, Data Warehousing and Data Modelling) that they will pay N150,000 per month? It was a total waste of time and resources.

Here are some of the questions I was asked: Interview with HR: 1. Have you had a conflict with a teammate? How did you resolve it? 2. What is your ideal work environment? Etc. Technical interview: 1. How will you build a data pipeline in AWS that ingests data from an API gateway, store the data in AWS, ensure that only the right persons have access to that data, and query the data efficiently? 2. Do you have experience with Kubernetes? 3. How have you used a CI/CD workflow? Etc.
