At first was really impressed with the process - seemed very transparent, recruiters give feedback which is nice and detailed preparation guides. But I felt a bit blind-sighted post interviews because of poor expectations set by none other than the recruiters themselves. For one, their system design + behavioral interviews are not industry standard, the standard for “technical depth” they want you to go into is beyond the scope of preparation materials and more relevant to the type of experience you have - if you don’t have relevant experience in your past work to what they want, they’ll just say you lack technical depth in the interview (which I find to be insulting for an on-site given that’s what a resume screen is for). For the coding, I was also explicitly told multiple times not to expect anything more than a leetcode medium and that it would focus more on understanding a real world scenario - and so I approached the problem with that context. However, turns out my interviewer gave me a leetcode hard involving DP, misexplained it to me, and then said I couldn’t turn out a working solution even when I confusingly thought I did with time to spare. One may chalk it up to sour grapes, but the fact that the friendly “feedback” the recruiters gave was so vague that I had to go online and do my own research to find out what I was missing and it wasn’t self evident right after the interview (something that’s usually the case) is what frustrated me about this overall process. My advice to prospective applicants is to prepare according to the recruiter advice but also make sure your experience matches up with the job + do additional preparation independently - ironically, for as much as they want to differentiate from a “standard tech company” interview loop and pretend to be more opaque, I found this more confusing. Also, interviewers should be taught to work with better etiquette - overall great experience there, but it’s completely unprofessional and demeaning for an interviewer to start playing with his pet while I’m explaining something.

One knowledge interview and one technical interview afterwards. Knowledge was fine. During the tech one, the interviewer was not listening. The problem was a standard one. Got rejected after second round.
