I interviewed for a Python & JavaScript web scraping position. I have several years of professional experience in data engineering and large-scale web scraping so I was genuinely interested in the opportunity. The process started with a detailed email questionnaire covering technical topics. I provided thorough responses outlining my approach, experience, and past projects. After submitting, I received a message thanking me and stating that my responses would be reviewed with the technical manager and that they would follow up with additional questions if needed. After that message, communication stopped entirely. There was no follow-up, no update, and no formal rejection. Up to that point, communication had been professional. However, failing to follow up after requesting detailed responses was unprofessional and undermined what had initially seemed like a serious hiring process.
