I applied for a position with Deftpower and had an initial interview with the CTO, which seemed to go well. During our conversation, we discussed the possibility of an onsite visit to meet the team. However, despite our agreement, I did not receive the expected email confirmation. When I reached out on the agreed-upon day, the CTO admitted to forgetting to send the confirmation but assured me I could still come in. Although this raised a red flag for me, I was eager to proceed with the process.
I took a day off and drove for over an hour to the onsite interview. However, upon arrival, I didn't feel particularly welcomed. I spent an hour with one of the founders, who explained the project's architecture. Following this, I was informed that they would be in touch the following day. Unfortunately, I never received any further communication. Being left in the dark without any acknowledgment of the effort I had put in was disappointing, even after requesting feedback.
I understand that not every interview process will result in an offer, but I believe that all candidates deserve basic respect and communication, regardless of the outcome. It was disheartening to be ghosted after investing time and energy into the interview process. I hope that Deftpower will consider improving their communication practices to ensure a more positive experience for future candidates.
