I applied for an Account Executive position at Deliverect, clearly stating from the very first conversation with HR that I was only interested in pursuing the role if it could be based in Madrid. I understood the job was officially listed as being in Belgium, but I was assured that the recruiter would check with the hiring manager before moving me forward in the process. Based on that confirmation, I completed all the interview steps, including a business case that required me to take a day off work and spend nearly three full days preparing it. After finishing the entire process, I finally received an offer, only to be told that the position could not be based in Madrid. This was extremely disappointing, as I had been transparent from the start about my location requirement. It felt like a significant waste of time and effort, given that this point should have been clarified upfront. Overall and despite my very good impression of the hiring manager, I found the experience lacking in transparency and respect for candidates’ time and energy. It’s unfortunate, because the role itself and the people I spoke with seemed genuinely interesting and professional.

Casual and straightforward. It took long though. I made it to the end and I was a favourite candidate, but they couldn't give me an offer, despite them me telling them I had another offer which I had to accept. I think their management team has commitment issues.
