Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Descript (San Francisco, CA).
Entrevista
Typical interview process for a software engineer. Recruiter intro, then tech screen which was build an app in React. The onsite was very standard for a software engineer (1 coding, 1 d&a, 1 system design, 1 behavioral). I was a little thrown off by the coding exercises. As a frontend engineer, I felt like it didn’t capture my skills in the right way, especially when the interviewer says, “you can code in python, if you’d like”. Other than that, the people were nice and the process was fine.

Entrevista
I applied through an internal referral. Started with a 30 minute call with the recruiter, then had an initial tech screen which was a little bit different than other places. We talked about a past project and system and then spent the second half working on a mini system design problem. Found out a few days later they wanted to move to the final round, which was a bit more standard in structure, but the questions still were much more practical for the sort of things the company works on. Really cannot say enough about how nice everyone was and how much they really seem to enjoy working at the company.

Initial screen was about prior project/system and then a mini system design. Final consisted of 2 coding rounds, 1 system design round and 1 behavioral round. Questions lean much more toward the practical side than LC.
