Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Dessa.
Entrevista
Relatively on time.
The interviewer simply followed a list of behavioral questions and took notes. It took much longer than half an hour. It seemed that this person had to write down all the responses to every single question for another person's review. The accent made it very hard to understand.
Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 1 dia. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Dessa.
Entrevista
Initial communication involved a 30 minute call with a recruiting coordinator, asking about my background and interest in the role.
This was followed by a 1 hour onsite interview being scheduled, with no description of the nature of the interview, which should have been my first red flag.
The interview itself was a series of theoretical questions, to which you either know the answers or don’t, and is likely a function of when you graduated from school, because that’s the only way all that textbook knowledge would still be stuck in your head.
The motley collection of questions was followed by a coding exercise for which I was handed a laptop and asks to login via my google account to access the challenge. Super shady. Piece of advice: don’t make candidates login with their personal credentials on a machine that doesn’t belong to them.
If you’re going to advertise the role as a software engineer role, and then ask theoretical DevOps and DB questions, you’re just wasting everyone’s time.
