Two telephone interviews with the internal recruiter - a brief chat about the role and my experience and then a more in depth phone interview.
Then a Teams interview with the Sales Manager before a 2nd interview via Teams with the Sales Manager and a senior sales team member.
All communication excellent until I finished the final interview on a Tuesday. Final interview felt like it went well, running well over the scheduled 1 hour and the role was particularly of interest at this point. I was assured I would receive feedback by close of play on the Thursday of that week once another 2 candidates had also been interviewed. I left the sales manager a voice note on Linkedin on Friday afternoon thanking him for his time in interviewing me and inviting feedback. I also informed him I had another job offer on the table but favoured the role with DeterTech so was keen to understand if I was still in the running or not. If not, I could throw myself fully into the other role without feeling as if I'm missing out at DeterTech. The message was and still has not been acknowledged or responded to.
I called the internal recruiter on the following Tuesday, now a full week since my final interview to ask if he had received any feedback from the Sales Manager to be informed he hadn't heard anything but will chase and get back to me. Followed my call up to the internal recruiter with an email on Wednesday afternoon again requesting feedback. Email not acknowledged and I am still awaiting feedback.
By now I have taken the hint that my application has been unsuccessful but the least a company owes a job applicant who has given up their time on four separate occasions to discuss a job opportunity is the courtesy of some feedback or an update on the progress of their application.
Very disappointing conduct from such a well established company but if this is how job applicants are treated, I'm glad I know as I don't hold out much hope for employees!
