We have streamlined our processes in light of the changing conditions in Australia, and have had to shift to a more nimble and responsive approach in assessing a candidates fit for DiUS. The aim was to create a quicker and more efficient process, although we appreciate there were gaps with technical assessment. We have recently incorporated pair programming and white-boarding, along with our traditional code tests, and feel like there is a range of quality assessment practices now which also takes into account an individual's experience and skill level. As a consulting business, we need people with a range of skills and usually look for full stack developers - being narrow in one or two areas means it limits the amount of clients we can assign you to. Our ads do mention this, and sometimes we do call out specific needs like java developers, especially if we need to build up that particular capability. A code test is a good way for us to assess your tech knowledge, code practice and problem solving ability. The process shouldn't have taken this long though, and we will take your feedback into consideration to make it a better experience. Cheers
