Difference between HashMap and Hashtable? Please considered other collection classes too for compression.

Hashtable -> Thread safe, slow performance, doesn't allow null keys and value HashMap -> Not Thread safe, faster than Hashtable, uses Hashtable to store elements, allow one null key and multiple null values. etc.
