I applied in July. After a short initial phone screen I was told the process in general would take roughly two weeks. I received a short coding challenge, and had a follow up screen with the hiring manager. Once my first technical phone screen happened, the developer I was supposed to interview with was a no show. As it turns out, the recruiter did not confirm the time with them. Once we reconfirmed a time, the interview was a 1-1 panel asking questions about distributed systems, general programming knowledge, and systems design. After passing the initial 1-1 tech screen, there were 4 separate 1-1 panels with 2 of them back to back on separate days. These were all centered around problems that I would most likely face with the role. The interview panels in general were very thorough and challenging, but my experience with the internal recruiter was not great. Multiple times throughout the course of the process he would tell me he would have an update on a given day and then not follow up until the following week, leading me to believe that I was either being rejected without notice, or forgotten. Eventually I was handed off to a different internal recruiter, and my experience with them was stellar! The process took about 2 months.
