I recently had a very disappointing interview process with Digital Ocean for a Product Security Engineer position which last over 3 months and had 7 different employees participating. The interview process was performed very unprofessionally, with lack of transparency, miscommunication and the hiring manager and the recruiter giving me opposite versions about my hiring. After 20 years of professional experience, working with multiple international companies, I must say this was the worse interview process I have ever experienced as I left it with a feeling of negligence and many doubts about how serious is Digital Ocean taking the security of their clients and products. Giving the candidates realistic expectation, having respect and consideration for their time is the least expected from a company like Digital Ocean. I hope for this suggestion to be taken into account and wish a better time for new candidates.
