A method to test whether a new feature will actually improve the performance of a product (i.e. a website). You randomly keep a group of users or visitors with the current version A and the rest with the modified version B. Then you establish some metric and measure the performance of both versions to decide statistically wether to keep version A or to upgrade to version B.
