Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Docusign (San Francisco, CA).
Entrevista
Just a few hours after submitting my resume I received an email for a phone interview with the recruiter. The recruiter interview went well and a call with the hiring manager was scheduled. My conversation with the hiring manager went great -she is amazing and we really clicked. She shared the urgency for hiring and hinted the role had been hard to fill - a red flag that was in my mind during the entire process but in retrospect I should have been even more cautious and protected myself from time suck/risk . The team really wanted me to come interview that same week but I shared that I had a super busy schedule (I had been -working 14-20 hour days for months preparing for a big event) and had only started looking for a new role (I put out 10 resumes over two weeks and expected I would not hear back from all or there would be a delay but all 10 responded with requests for interviews so I had a lot to ponder) I was also about to leave for an international event - so really wanted to delay the interviews for a week or so I could be prepared and fresh -but the hiring manager was so keen to have me come in quickly I capitulated. I thought maybe they could be trying to push through another candidate and needed a quota filled but they convinced me they did not have an internal candidate. And again - I really was a compelling fit for this role. Although it was highly risky - and against my better judgment- I was going to be two blocks from the company earlier that morning for a meeting so I agreed to come in as I truly thought I had found a position and team that was an excellent match for me and somewhere I could hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. The recruiter even took the time to prepare me the night before for each person I was about to meet with. Taking the time to do this for a candidate is impressive and always a great sign. The recruiter earnestly promised to follow up with me the evening after the interviews or early the following week. I took her word on this. I thought the onsite interviews went well - really loved the team - I asked the VP tough questions (as I was encouraged to do so) for example I asked- how DocuSign planned to weather the inevitable market volatility in our future - the verticals are all high risk. ) With each subsequent interview I more confident I was just what they were looking for. Alas -I was promptly ghosted - I did not hear back from the recruiter the following Monday as was promised not even with a courtesy "its us not you" or "sorry we just didn't like you" . I had already lined up several interviews upon my return - so I was ok letting it go but should would have been valuable to get a reply and feedback. Why would they be falling over themselves one day and then suddenly drop me? I reviewied all my responses to questions... I pondered my unusual fatigue level down to my my clothing choices? Was I a token sacrificial lamb in their HR quota? woman (check) over 40 (check) minority (check) I had to ponder all... Given the circumstances, that I was genuinely interested and went above and beyond to accommodate their schedule - it was both utterly creepy and egregiously disrespectful. It also appears the position was reposted a week later. Despite all - Wishing good luck to the smart, charismatic group I met with.
