O processo levou 2 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela DoorDash (Chicago, IL) em nov. de 2021

      Entrevista

I was contacted by a DoorDash recruiter about an open position and was asked to send over a resume and schedule a phone interview. It was clear early in the interview the recruiter hadn't bothered to read my resume. I was asked very basic questions about my work history, experiences and asked how I would respond to particular scenarios.

Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 4 semanas. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa DoorDash.

      Entrevista

Went through 5 rounds of interviews with a case study presentation thrown in. For the most part interviews went really well but something seemed off. After making it to the final interview I just had to decline & could not proceed due to the fact that of the 5 managers, 3 Sr.managers, 2 recruiting coordinators and main Sr. Recruiter I interviewed with not one was a minority -every single one Caucasian. They preach diversity out the wazoo cross their website, social media and stories but do not practice it with their upper management roles. This is a shame especially since the founders are Asian (yikes). There are just too many other companies that are doing it right. Life is too short to go backwards.

      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela DoorDash (New York, NY) em out. de 2021

      Entrevista

I was contacted by the recruiter and set up a second interview with who would be my manager. Then you have to sign an NDA for the next step which is a panel. I really wanted this role (I know you should come from a place of non-neediness) but I was also juggling multiple offers. I turned down some great ones just to be seen here because I didn't want to take a job and just resign two weeks in. I felt that my interview was scheduled way too late despite me letting them know. They were apologetic, but those other opportunities I turned down are gone from my life forever. I was confident that my accomplishments and prior interview skills would have carried me here, but I guess I was a bit rusty. I feel that this was a bit selfish on their part to not expedite the process a bit, but it's my fault too for agreeing to their terms. There is a sales role-play session where you are given a prospect, and one of the other managers will be the customer. You are "supposed" to have only 45 minutes to go over the materials. My suggestion is to REALLY study for this. I am talking DAYS here. The management that interviewed me is some of the smartest people I have ever interviewed for. I suggest you have a professional sales process in place. My role-play was designed so the prospect couldn't be closed. I think they do this to see how you can take feedback. But, at the same time, I felt the person administering the roleplay could have done a better job. They did not administer the role-play properly in my opinion. When I asked, "What would you have done?" I did not get a clear answer as to where/what or how to do it correctly. So, it could be the management is new and still learning, or they already had other final candidates in mind. A better way to administer the role play portion would have been to have two role plays. One where you try with your process, and then another when you incorporate the feedback you were given so you can close the prospect. You have probably spent hours preparing for your interview, from researching the company to practicing responses. If a prospective employer hasn't shown you a similar courtesy, it isn't a good sign. Some of the folks on my call showed up a bit late and left early. The timing for me was off during the interview process, I wasn't able to close the role-play, and my thank you note was probably taken as a bit too aggressive-- which was probably taken the wrong way. Despite having what I thought were excellent credentials there was no offer. I would have worked my tail off if given the chance to work with these brilliant folks. I feel no one would have done a better job. I still got a lot out of the interview process and ended up accepting an offer with a competitor, but I hate to lose. :) Taking the interview made me refresh my resume, take additional sales training to polish my skills, and familiarize myself with leadership books that I read years ago. So the experience will make me a better person.
