Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Dow (Freeport, TX) em dez. de 2018
Entrevista
Had a face to face interview on December 14, 2018 in Freeport, TX. There were 48 people interviewing this time, I've usually on seen 36 before. The HR lady told us that since many people decide to retire at the end of the year, they were interviewing more people this time around. Also there was something going on in the plant so many of the interviewers dropped out. So instead of a panel interview of 4 -5 people was reduced to 1-3 people. You start in a room with an HR rep and you go around the room introducing yourself and then you watch a brief video about the company. HR then gives more details about the pay and touches on other benefits and which area you might be sent to. You are then taken to a different room for the face to face interview. This time I had two interviewers and they took turns asking "Give me an example of [this scenario] " questions and they would write down your answer. It was canned questions like that and I'm not sure what kind of info they gleam from them. I'm sure there's some kind of algorithm to it. It lasted about an hour.
Unfortunately, I did not get an offer. I emailed the "Talent Acquisition Specialist" to see if I could get some kind of feedback from HR on what I need to work on or what caused me not to get an offer. He replied back that he sent the request off to HR and HR wasn't going to get back from the holiday until the first week of January. I'm hoping to get some kind of useful response instead of the usual "Thank you for your time to consider applying to Dow Chemical, but we have fulfilled our needs for the position with a candidate that more closely matches our current needs." That vague response doe not help and does not tell people what they need to work on to better your chances for next time. Maybe I didn't "check all the boxes" that they go by nowadays? I had an interview for the same job in 2016 and didn't get any kind of feedback when I requested it so who knows. It wasn't a bad experience, but they could help out by giving some kind of info afterwards if you don't make the cut.

Interview with 4-6 people. Couple months later get the offer. Interviewers are people you will work with so you get a good summary of what to expect. Great place to be an operator. Union is good as well. Pay isnt as high as everywhere else but the environment is worth it.

Tell me about a time when you had to make a decision with limited information, what did you do?
Long, multiple phone interviews through a third party recruiting company before reaching an in person interview at the site. Relatively quick response after the interview if a job offer is to be extended
