Applied for a role, went through a short telephone screening. General overview, motivations check, salary expectations etc.
The company used an old version of Angular, expertise would be used to select the most appropriate a new technology. Profit via NHS contracts, long term goals to expand globally.
They gave the impression of being a progressive startup.
Was advised first step was a technical test. There’s an recruitment technique where there is an expectation for a candidate to invest several days unpaid upfront. When prompted, the expected time frame of investment could not be provided. Advised please send through would happily review and estimate.
Never heard back.
Technical tests are a huge topic with the industry. This expectation & ghosting is an great indication of culture and professionalism. It demonstrates to me a digital company with a traditional mindset.

3 stages, chat with internal recruiter, then technical test and chat, then culture check.
Tech test was good, but interviewers were not massively helpful, and so didn’t feel like a pure pairing exercise.
Never got a response and found the communication very unprofessional, unproductive, and unhelpful.
