The process wasn't adequately informed. In the initial stages of the process, the HR people didn't say anything about the staff augmentation nature of the position, and later, after one technical interview and a coding test, it was informed that the customer interview was the most relevant stage for a hiring decision, no matter the outcome of previous steps. After the interview with the customer, which surprisingly turned out to be another technical interview, the selection process reached a stand-by phase; then, after three weeks of no communication at all, a notification was sent informing that the position wasn't available anymore because the customer decided to pause the opening.
