      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Drive (Saint Louis, MO) em jun. de 2015

      Entrevista

Saw a posting from Drive, Inc., a self-billed sports marketing company in St. Louis that worked with the Cardinals, Blues, etc. The position title and job description were for Jr. Product Manager. Being a Product Manager wanting to move to St. Louis (at the time) and a sports fan...I bit. I had a phone screening then an in-person interview in St. Louis. Prior to the in-person I was asked to research the company and what it was about and to come to the interview prepared with that info. What I found was pretty sparse...a Facebook page updated with motivational posters and nothing else, a website with a blog post stating they were trying to expand coast to coast...then no updates for over a year. Google profiles, website, etc. were all very sparse on what the company did, what their mission was, what market they served, etc. Since they'd used "Product Manager" in the job posting and had the right description I thought they were just a small company starting out and decided to give them a chance. While waiting for my in-person there were other people coming in to be interviewed in batches. At this point I realized this wasn't going to go well, after all. In the interview it came out that the "Jr. Product Manager" bit was bogus. They wanted candidates to enter a manager trainee program that lasted some months, then transitioned to an "executive" position where you were basically a branch manager baby sitting a print shop. I was pretty peeved about the misdirection and wish Google searches for the company had auto-populated "Drive, Inc St Louis SCAM" the way they do now so I could save myself the trouble. When asked about what I thought about the company following my "research," I let the interviewer know their online presence was very sparse, provided no information about what the company's objective, market, etc. was about, that the Facebook page was unprofessional, and that a blog post about expansion with no follow up in over a year doesn't look very good. How does a company billing itself as a marketing firm with such a poor online presence get clients in 2015? Further research has revealed they are a door-to-door sales entity. They did not call me back.
