Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Drop Manufacturing (Nelson, BC).
Entrevista
Single interview with engineering manager, asked about technical experience and past projects, asked some team-fit questions. Fairly straight-forward. They seemed more interested in how the fit at the company would be.
Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Drop Manufacturing (Crescent Valley, BC) em ago. de 2022
Entrevista
Was asked only three trivia-style questions pertaining to actual software development.
Worth noting that the posting said (and still says at the time of writing) they're hiring for anything from junior to senior developer. Went through a phone screen and an in person interview just to be told that they want somebody experienced who can guide their current software engineer (i.e. a senior developer). Nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but they need to set their expectations more clearly. If they knew this up front, I shouldn't have passed the phone screening. If they discovered it as a result of my interview, they should have updated their posting to reflect their needs.
In the end this made me feel like I dodged a bullet. If they're as indecisive with their software needs as they are with their hiring process, I can't imagine the amount of refactoring the dev team is going to have to do.
