A head hunter from a company I had never heard called me. I got an interview the next day with the actual onsite manager in Southport, North Carolina at the Brunswick Nuclear Generating Plant, process was easy, accepted the job, everything downhill from there. Manager was extremely difficult to please, and did not have experience in power plant construction. Managed to stay a year.

Asked me about my power plant experience. What is your power plant experience?
Do you mind taking a 3 days of tests? Required 3 days of tests at the Duke testing center. Tests were pretty hard and not relevant to the job at all. Discussed tons of science such as uranium fission, glad I have several degrees and was able to pass the tests. However, seemed a little strange that the questions were so far from project costs, not related to the work at all.
