I replied to an ad for a Junior Estimator/Project Manager position at a satellite office of theirs in Tannersville, PA. I was called in for an interview in Tannersville within a week. The interview was fairly straight forward and went well talking about the job responsibilities and going over my background in the chemical process and petroleum industries. The interviewer seemed to think I was a good fit for the position. The next week I was invited to their New York City headquarters to interview with the division manager. The night before the interview the HR manager sent me a revised job description that was not for a Junior Estimator/Project Manager position but for a seasoned Project Manager position with much different requirements. After driving into New York (at rush hour) I was promptly told in clear and non-uncertain terms that my experience did not meet the job requirements.
