I submitted my resume and was contacted by the office administrator to arrange for the first interview with one of the founders.
First phone interview with the founder was a little over 30 minutes and was pleasant. I believe the intent was to establish cultural fit.
Second phone interview was with two of the four founders and was more informative and interactive. Many scenario based questions were asked to see how I would approach each situation. At the end of the hour, references were requested. The next step would be an on-site meeting with the team.
The day spent with the team was wonderful! Dynamic Owl is solely comprised of A players who are incredibly passionate and collaborative. I knew in the first hour that I would be thrilled to join the amazing group.
Written offer was sent a day later, which I accepted.
Start to finish, the process took 3 weeks.

A three minute phone call with the company secretary, followed by a 30 minute meeting with one of the co founders. If you are successful you move on to next steps.
We are not interested in hiring a 'west coast salesperson '. (Again, no word of a lie here. Painting everyone from the west coast as being overly concerned with getting their yoga and latte in before the start of the work day is a bit silly; certainly there are ways to make that statement that might come across better...)
After sending an appropriate "thank you for the meeting" note, received a reply from the company secretary stating " Thank you so much for your email. We are still currently interviewing for this position. But we will not be moving forward with your application."

The first interview was a feeling out process, with basic HR type questions. The second technical interview was actually a refreshing change from the typical technical exam or white board session.
The manager asked me to make a very small App in a live coding session. He told me he wanted to see how I thought through a code base and how I solved problems. In retrospect, it's probably the best most straight forward way I've seen someone do an interview (and I'm saying that as someone who's interviewed developers before). It was refreshing, because the work he asked me to do, is basically the work I've been doing, so it's such an obvious simple way to go about it.
