This was when EMarketer was still Insider Intelligence. After a few standard interviews and some initial written response questions, I was asked to complete an assignment (obviously without pay) that was said to be a two hour assignment, but myself and another experienced, director-level writer friend evaluated it at closer to 10+ hours of work. I was given a short timeline and then rushed on that timeline, to almost immediately be told after submitting that I did not get the position. This was through a recruiter so that could have been a factor.
