Interview over Teams, with their ninja/rockstar team lead. Was a very strange experience. They spent the first 15 minutes mansplaining basic aspects of the .Net frameworks and currency trading to me. (I have over 30 years experience, including over 20 years in .Net. And I trade currencies in my spare time. So none of this was new to me. But it was as if they hadn't read my CV, and really really liked the sound of their own voice.) Later in the interview, when I could get a word in edgewise, I asked them about their approach to cyber-security? Do they use any external pen testers like Cyber Tec or Redscan? And do they separate crypto into hot and cold wallets, to reduce their attack surface should they be compromised? Rockstar's answer was that they "don't have time for pen testing." Good luck with that. Bullet dodged, I think. This company seems to be involved in interesting areas, that I think I'd have had a lot to contribute to. But their approach to cybersecurity will likely end in tears, and their single interviewer approach leaves a lot to be desired. I was reminded of the Joel Spolsky quote that "A Players hire A Players help them look even better, B players hire C Players to make themselves appear competent by comparison."
