After applying I was sent a rejection email almost immediately. The next day, however, I was offered a phone interview. First interview consisted of a phone screen, via Microsoft Teams, that was basic background questions (why do you want to leave your current job, what’s your educational background, etc). At the end of this I was invited to a larger interview with a panel including the person who would be leaving the position. This ran for about two hours and included making a PowerPoint presentation that could be on any topic I felt would be necessary for the interview. Questions here ran the gambit from how I worked in a team setting, conflicts, favorite management style, etc. It felt very conversational and the last 30 minutes were spent discussing Eastman’s work culture and what the job would entail. Finally, a short meeting with a talent agent followed where salary, benefits, etc we’re discussed. It was mentioned that they would like to make a decision by the end of the next week. After a month of hearing nothing I sent a follow up email to the talent agent who was said to be my point of contact moving forward, but received no response. 2 weeks later I received a final automated rejection email without ever hearing anything in the prior 6 weeks.
