I recently interviewed with Elfie after being contacted directly by an HR representative through LinkedIn. While I initially appreciated the outreach, the process quickly became frustrating and disappointing. First, I was required to respond through the company’s website, even though the HR representative had contacted me directly. Then, I was asked to download their app and select a meeting time from an open calendar. These extra steps felt unnecessarily complicated and impersonal. When the interview took place, it became evident that the interviewer had not reviewed my background or qualifications, despite having access to my LinkedIn profile and CV. Most of the 30-minute meeting was spent discussing the company in general terms, with little effort to engage with me or evaluate my suitability for the role. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and unproductive. Elfie should consider refining their hiring process to ensure candidates are met with preparation, respect, and meaningful dialogue during interviews.

I interviewed for a Product Owner role beginning in mid-January 2024 and wrapped up the process by late February. The initial HR outreach came through LinkedIn, followed by a virtual meeting that led to a second discussion with my potential manager. I then completed a three-day assignment testing my skills for the role. Afterward, I interviewed with the founder and finally had a culture fit round with a team member. The experience was challenging, but I found the HR team bright, friendly, and transparent about each step. I ultimately received and accepted the job offer in mid-February. I would suggest remaining flexible, thoughtful, and open-minded throughout.
