I responded to a job posting on LinkedIn 3 hours after it was posted. They contacted me within 30 minutes, which was a surprise. The promptness was appreciated yet made me feel a bit skeptical. A call was made and we scheduled an interview for the next day. I should've done more research beforehand and read more reviews. They called me to confirm I would come to the interview. I showed up 15 minutes early, walked up to the office door, and noticed no one was inside. The door was locked so I couldn't sit in their small waiting area. I decided to wait in the lobby for a few minutes, hoping they would come back to the office in time. No one did. Not even a receptionist. I called the person who contacted me and reached no one. I asked someone else in the building if people were usually in the office at this time and they said yes. My gut told me to leave, so I did. No one contacted me later to check in or reschedule. I thought about sending a follow-up email, but halfway through writing the draft I thought it wasn't worth it. I don't know if they had a misunderstanding on their part, but if they communicated that or even contacted me, I would've appreciated that. Maybe I would've accepted a rescheduled interview, but after reading other reviews here, I saved some of my time I guess. tl:dr; Quick to initially respond to my application yet unprofessional and disappointing after that. Wasted time preparing and driving to an interview that never happened.
